Winery
Blenheim Vineyards is a family-owned winery located near Charlottesville, Virginia, on a historic farm originally claimed in 1730 by John Carter, the colonial Secretary of the Virginia Colony.
The estate, just south of Monticello, retains its historic significance and was purchased in 1999 by musician Dave Matthews, who helped develop the vineyard starting in 2000. The winery spans about 30 acres and grows a variety of grapes including Viognier, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot, producing around 5,500 cases of wine annually.
The vineyard combines traditional heritage with modern, eco-friendly architecture designed with reclaimed wood and offers visitors beautiful views of the surrounding landscape, including Monticello. Blenheim is part of the Monticello Wine Trail and emphasizes quality and sustainability, blending Virginia’s rich history with contemporary winemaking.
