Bogus Basin is a mountain recreation area located about 16 miles north-northeast of Boise, Idaho, situated in Boise County within the Boise National Forest.
It encompasses roughly 2,600 acres, including ski runs, bowls, and glades, with the highest point at Shafer Butte reaching an elevation of 7,582 feet. The area features a variety of terrain suitable for skiing, snow tubing, snowshoeing, and mountain biking, making it a year-round destination. It has multiple lifts serving over 80 runs and offers scenic views of Boise and the surrounding Treasure Valley.
In winter, Bogus Basin is popular for alpine skiing with both beginner and expert terrain, while in summer, it transforms into a hub for mountain biking with extensive trails and a bike park, along with activities like a mountain coaster and tubing. The access road climbs over 3,400 feet elevation with many twists, connecting the resort to Boise.
