Funded by a 1996 Hamilton County sales tax increase costing about $290 million and designed by HOK Sport and GBBN on a wedge-shaped site between the old stadium and Heritage Bank Center, it required partial demolition of Riverfront for construction amid fan views during the process.
The modern facility seats around 42,000 with riverfront views, riverboat-themed features like Power Stacks smokestacks firing fireworks on home runs, Crosley Terrace statues of Reds legends, mosaics honoring the 1869 Red Stockings and Big Red Machine, and the Reds Hall of Fame Museum.
