Botanical Garden
The Green Bay Botanical Garden in Wisconsin spans 47 acres and was officially opened to the public in 1996 on land that was once the Larsen Orchard.
The garden features more than 120,000 plants and flowers across 21 themed garden areas, including the English Cottage Garden, Rose Garden, Magnolia Grove, and the Bell Children’s Garden. It was founded by a group of passionate horticulturists in the 1970s and grew through community support, a long-term lease from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, and dedicated fundraising efforts.
The garden offers year-round programs, including the popular winter Garden of Lights event with over 200,000 holiday lights. It also conducts horticultural trials and research, such as the nationally recognized Magnolia Collection, contributing to the scientific study of plants suited for Wisconsin’s climate.
The garden combines natural Wisconsin scenery with carefully curated displays and educational experiences, making it a vibrant attraction for plant lovers and families alike.
