Winery
Old Firehouse Winery in Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio, on the Lake Erie shoreline, occupies the village's original fire station—a historic barn from 1924 that once housed the first Graham Brothers firetruck ordered by local businessmen after bucket-brigade battles—and was transformed into a winery in 1987 by partners Dave Otto, Joyce Otto, and retired firefighter Don Woodward.
Known as the largest winery on the Great Lakes, it produces around 18 medal-winning varieties from local grapes like Lake Erie Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Chambourcin, and fruit wines such as Spiced Apple, Peach, Raspberry Reflections, and Sweet Concord, all crafted on-site with nightly summer entertainment, live music, and a full-service patio-gazebo menu featuring sandwiches, ethnic dishes, barbecue, and ribs overlooking the water.
The year-round spot draws crowds to its eclectic fire-themed atmosphere, special events like the Lake Erie Wine Fest, Celtic Feis, Clam Bake, and Christmas Party, plus online shopping for wines and merchandise in this lively resort town's heart.
