Part of the original Nature's Acres roadside attraction that grew to include the A.R.K. zoo with reptiles and Hugh's brother-in-law Chief Wolf-Robe Hunt selling crafts, it drew Route 66 travelers for family fun until closing in 1988 amid declining crowds and Hugh's health woes, falling into disrepair before community volunteers and the City of Catoosa restored it in the 2000s as a beloved photo stop and historic landmark.
