Zoo
Cape May County Park and Zoo in New Jersey began operation in 1978 within the Cape May County Park, originally starting with an African lion, spider monkeys, barnyard animals, and local wildlife.
Over time, it expanded into a 57-acre zoo featuring over 550 animals across 250 species from around the world, including African savannas with giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and ostriches, as well as a reptile house and a walk-through aviary called World of Birds.
The zoo became accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums in 1989 and has continued to renovate and grow its exhibits, becoming a popular family-friendly destination that combines wildlife viewing with educational programs.
