Museum
Loveland Castle Museum, also known as Château Laroche, sits on the banks of the Little Miami River north of Loveland, Ohio, as a hand-built medieval-style castle constructed starting in 1927 by World War I veteran and Boy Scout leader Harry D. Andrews with help from his Knights of the Golden Trail troop.
Andrews, inspired by European castles he saw during the war, gathered stones from the river with scouts to create this rugged stone fortress over decades as a symbol of knighthood's honor and strength, completing much of it by his death in 1981 at age 91.
Today, the museum offers tours of its towers, dungeon, game room, knight exhibits, swords, armor, and secret spaces, plus scenic gardens, hiking trails, and events like weddings, drawing visitors to its unique handmade architecture and storied past maintained by the knights' successors.
