The caves have been used by Native Americans, including the Copena culture, who left behind a 2,000-year-old burial site. The caverns feature one of the largest onyx-marble formations in the world and have a rich history that includes mining attempts in the early 1900s, use as a Prohibition-era speakeasy, and later development into a public show cave.
Today, visitors can take guided tours to explore stunning formations and enjoy a sound and light show, as well as experience over twenty other attractions on the property like a maze, climbing wall, gemstone panning, and family-friendly amusement rides. The site was renamed Majestic Caverns in 2022 and remains a popular destination combining natural beauty, history, and entertainment.
