Wayne Porter, who grew up learning welding in his father’s blacksmith shop, began creating sculptures from a young age and opened the park in 2000 after realizing his passion for art could be a livelihood. The sculptures are whimsical, thought-provoking, and inspired by the South Dakota prairie and Porter's diverse influences.
The park is open seasonally from mid-May to mid-October, offers a small admission fee, and is a unique roadside attraction drawing visitors with its blend of artistry, humor, and prairie landscape.
