Museum
The Mark Twain Boyhood Home Museum Gallery, located in Hannibal, Missouri, preserves and interprets the childhood home of Samuel Clemens, better known as Mark Twain.
The home, built around 1843, was occupied by the Clemens family until 1853 and served as the setting for Twain’s formative years, which greatly influenced his classic novels like "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer." The museum complex includes multiple historic buildings such as the boyhood home, the Becky Thatcher House, and a reconstructed Huckleberry Finn House, plus the Museum Gallery which features 15 original Norman Rockwell paintings illustrating Twain’s works and a vast collection of Twain artifacts.
Since becoming a museum in 1912, the site provides visitors with immersive, interactive exhibits, live performances, and educational programs that bring Twain’s stories and era to life, making it a major cultural destination celebrating America’s literary heritage.
