Bear Country USA, located just eight miles south of Rapid City, South Dakota, is a unique 250-acre drive-through wildlife park where visitors can see North American wildlife like black bears, elk, bison, mountain lions, reindeer, and wolves roaming freely in natural habitats.
The park includes a three-mile driving route through large enclosures that allow guests to observe animals safely from their vehicles, with all doors and windows required to remain closed. After the drive, visitors can explore Babyland, a walking area where young and small animals, including cute bear cubs, are exhibited.
The park offers a gift shop and snack bar, and hosts special events like an annual "Cubfest" where visitors can meet and hold bear cubs. Open seasonally from late April through November, Bear Country USA provides an up-close, memorable wildlife experience blending safety and natural beauty in the Black Hills.
