Named for the Chickasaw Indians who once inhabited the region, it features two scenic lakes—Lake Placid and Lake Lajoie—for boating, fishing, and paddling with rentable rowboats and pedal boats. Visitors enjoy over four miles of easy-to-moderate hiking trails like Owens Spring Trail through diverse ecosystems, a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course, tent and RV camping, picnicking, horseback riding, and access to hundreds of miles of trails for hiking, biking, and ATVs in the adjacent state forest.
