Crow Flies High State Recreation Area is a day-use scenic overlook spanning 51 acres atop a prominent butte two miles west of New Town in Mountrail County, North Dakota.
Named for Hidatsa chief Crow Flies High, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Sakakawea, the Four Bears Bridge, badlands bluffs, and—during low water levels—remnants of the submerged town of Sanish, flooded after Garrison Dam's 1953 completion.
Interpretive signs detail its history as a Lewis and Clark expedition lookout used by William Clark, with no facilities beyond parking and easy access year-round.
