Park
Glendalough State Park covers nearly 2,800 acres in Otter Tail County, Minnesota, about 4 miles north of Battle Lake off the Otter Tail Scenic Byway, blending elm-basswood forests, rolling hills, restored prairies, and six pristine lakes including Molly Stark, Annie Battle, and Sunset Lake.
Established in 1992 after transfer from the Nature Conservancy, once a private resort and game farm owned by the Cowles Media Company, it preserves one of western Minnesota's last large tracts of undeveloped lakeshore with glacial terrain and abundant wildlife like waterfowl, deer, and butterflies.
Visitors hike or bike nine miles of trails including a paved 5.5-mile loop around Molly Stark and Annie Battle Lakes, paddle Battle Creek connecting the chain of lakes, fish for large bass, walleye, and panfish under special regulations, swim at a sandy beach, picnic near overlooks, and camp at cart-in tent sites or yurts amid vibrant prairie blooms and serene sunsets.
