Park
Hendy Woods State Park is a riverside redwood park in Mendocino County’s Anderson Valley that protects two old‑growth groves (Big Hendy and Little Hendy) with some trees over 300 feet tall and possibly a thousand years old.
The park’s roughly 800–945 acres include a sunny riverside meadow, the Navarro River, about five miles of gentle trails (including a 0.6‑mile wheelchair‑accessible Discovery Trail), picnic ramadas, and family‑friendly campsites and cabins open year‑round.
Warmer and less foggy than many coastal redwood areas, Hendy Woods is popular for summer swimming and paddling in late winter and spring, bird and wildlife viewing, and scenic walks through fern‑filled forest. Facilities include restrooms, shaded picnic areas, a small volunteer‑staffed visitor center, and accessible features for visitors with mobility needs.
