Dedicated in 1985 as one of the state's four environmental education centers, it focuses on hands-on discovery-based programs for schools, teachers, families, and groups, covering natural history, ecosystems, wildlife, conservation, and outdoor skills through year-round workshops and field experiences.
The park features 18.5 miles of trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding through forests, fields, and Bushkill Creek watershed with diverse wildflowers, plus the Jacobsburg National Historic District showcasing early gunmaking heritage including the famous Henry Rifle manufactory.
