Park
Jenkins Ferry Battleground State Park is a small historic state park in Grant County, Arkansas, that preserves the site of the Battle of Jenkins’ Ferry, a Civil War fight on April 30, 1864, during the Red River Campaign.
The park was created in 1961 and is about 40 acres in size, with interpretive exhibits, historic markers, picnic areas, and access to the Saline River. It marks an important Union crossing point where troops under Frederick Steele fought their way across the river and continued back toward Little Rock.
