Museum
The Kruger Street Toy and Train Museum in Wheeling, West Virginia, is housed in a restored Victorian-era school building from 1906, originally built as Elm Grove Public School.
The museum was opened in 1998 by Allan Robert Miller and his son, who began collecting toy trains in the 1970s and expanded their collection to include classic toys, dolls, and model trains. Spanning three floors with ten exhibit rooms, the museum features various rooms dedicated to different types and scales of model trains, toy cars, dolls, and a large collection of Snoopy and Peanuts memorabilia donated by Dr. William Mercer.
The displays include historic train models, interactive slot car tracks, and an intricate model amusement park called “K-Land” made of over 250,000 pieces. Visitors experience nostalgic highlights from various decades, and the museum serves as a family-friendly destination preserving childhood memories and teaching toy and railroad history.
Located at 144 Kruger Street, it remains a unique cultural attraction in Western Pennsylvania’s Ohio Valley region, though the historic school building is not wheelchair accessible.
