Created in 1955 by damming Clear Fork Creek—a tributary of the Hocking River—this day-use haven transitioned from Ohio Department of Natural Resources wildlife management to state park status in 1964, offering excellent fishing for northern pike, bass, bluegill, crappie, catfish, and saugeye amid clean waters shaped by ancient glacial outwash.
