Park
Leonard Harrison State Park covers 585 acres on the eastern rim of Pennsylvania's Pine Creek Gorge, known as the Grand Canyon of the state, in Tioga County's Shippen and Delmar Townships, 10 miles west of Wellsboro.
Named for lumberman Leonard Harrison who donated the original 121 acres in 1922, it offers stunning overlooks into the 800-foot-deep, nearly 4,000-foot-wide glacially carved canyon, plus 4.6 miles of hiking trails like the strenuous Turkey Path to Pine Creek and the Pine Creek Rail Trail for biking and skiing.
The park provides camping, fishing, hunting, a visitor center, and wildlife viewing for eagles, bears, otters, and diverse plants in this National Natural Landmark and State Natural Area.
