Medicine Creek State Recreation Area is a large outdoor area in southern Nebraska centered around 1,768‑acre Medicine Creek Reservoir, also known as Harry Strunk Lake, with about 29 miles of shoreline surrounded by rolling plains and stands of trees.
The park offers camping, fishing, boating, swimming at a non‑lifeguard beach, picnicking, and hunting on and around the lake, which is known for crappie, walleye, white bass, channel catfish, and wipers. It includes more than 100 electric campsites, Basic and Primitive sites, a few lakeside cabins, three boat ramps, fish‑cleaning stations, disc golf, volleyball, horseshoes, an archery range, modern restrooms, showers, and a dump station, all open year‑round and managed by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
