Montgomery Bell State Park in Burns, Tennessee, covers 3,782 acres in Dickson County within the Nashville Basin, about 30 miles west of Nashville, named for iron industrialist Montgomery Bell who established major furnaces like Laurel Furnace in the early 1800s.

Developed in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps, Works Progress Administration, and Public Works Administration as a Recreational Demonstration Area before transferring to state control in 1943, it features remnants of historic ironworks, high-quality oak-hickory forests designated as a Class II Natural Area, and rolling terrain from 580 to 860 feet elevation.

Visitors enjoy two lakes for boating and fishing, an 18-hole golf course, equestrian trails, 86 campsites, 33 cabins, over 20 miles of hiking trails including the CCC Memorial and iron ore pit paths, a nature center, and annual reunions for former CCC workers.
