Park
Olompali State Historic Park is a 700‑acre Marin County site overlooking the Petaluma River and San Pablo Bay that preserves layers of human history—from ancient Coast Miwok villages to Mexican rancho life and later 19th–20th century uses—along with open hills, oak woodlands and tidal marsh edge habitat.
The park contains historic structures (including Camilo Ynitia’s adobe, a California Historical Landmark), a recreated Miwok village, miles of hiking and horseback trails, picnic areas and a small museum with limited hours, and it is managed for both cultural interpretation and wildlife conservation.
Visitor access is day‑use only (typically 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.), parking and entry fees may apply, and programs, museum hours and special tours are scheduled intermittently—check the park or Friends of Olompali for current hours, events and guided‑visit opportunities before you go.
