Park
Peaks-Kenny State Park covers 813 acres on the south shore of Sebec Lake in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, named for Francis J. Peaks who donated the land in 1964 to honor his sister Annie Peaks Kenny and parents Joseph and Eliza Peaks.
This seasonal park features a white sand beach at South Cove with lifeguard service in summer, 56 wooded campsites amid glacial boulders, over 10 miles of easy-to-moderate hiking trails through old-growth forest including the scenic Cove Trail and two-mile Browns Point Trail to a secluded swimming spot, plus canoe and kayak rentals, playground, picnic areas with grills, and a reservable pavilion.
Located in Maine's Central Highlands near Moosehead Lake and the Appalachian Trail, it offers boating, fishing for bass and salmon, and a peaceful family retreat with Borestone Mountain views across the water.
