Park
Potawatomi State Park spans about 1,200 acres on the shores of Sturgeon Bay in Door County, Wisconsin, featuring gently rolling uplands, steep limestone cliffs, and dense forests of birch, maple, pine, and beech trees. Named for the Potawatomi tribe, known as "keepers of the fire," who once lived in the area, the park offers nearly 20 miles of trails for hiking, biking, skiing, and snowmobiling, plus shoreline access for boating, fishing, kayaking, and camping at 123 sites. Visitors enjoy wildlife like deer, foxes, raccoons, and diverse birds, along with scenic overlooks from a 75-foot observation tower rising 225 feet above the bay.
