History Museum

Thomas Edison National Historical Park in West Orange, New Jersey, preserves the inventor's home called Glenmont and his massive laboratory complex, where he developed over half of his 1,093 U.S. patents including the motion picture camera, improved phonograph, sound recordings, and nickel-iron battery from 1887 until his death in 1931.

The 21-acre site features more than a dozen original buildings like machine shops, a research library, chemistry labs, and a replica of the Black Maria, the world's first movie studio, allowing visitors to tour preserved rooms with belts, pulleys, and early inventions on display.
