Park
Trione-Annadel State Park covers over 5,000 acres on the eastern edge of Santa Rosa in Sonoma County, California, blending oak woodlands, grasslands, volcanic hills, and Lake Ilsanjo amid remnants of Wappo and Southern Pomo heritage, Mexican ranchos, and basalt quarries that supplied cobblestones for San Francisco streets.
Renamed in 2016 to honor the Trione family's conservation efforts after opening as Annadel State Park in 1971, it boasts more than 45 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and wildflower viewing from spring through early summer.
This day-use-only destination charges an $8 vehicle fee, features a visitor center with exhibits, accessible picnic areas and restrooms, and warm summers in the 80s-90s°F, but prohibits camping and restricts access during rare winter rains or fires.
