Park
Willow River State Park spans nearly 2,900 acres five miles north of Hudson in St. Croix County, Wisconsin, centered on the stunning 45-foot Willow Falls plunging into a 200-foot-deep gorge carved by the Willow River, with 600-million-year-old trilobite fossils visible in the rock layers. One of Wisconsin's most visited parks due to its proximity to the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area, it offers over 13 miles of scenic hiking and biking trails through prairie remnants, forests, and wetlands, family and group campgrounds with 155 sites (including 55 electric), a sandy beach on Little Falls Lake for swimming and paddling, trout fishing on a class 2 stream, picnicking, a nature center with exhibits, and winter cross-country skiing on groomed trails.
