Withrow Springs State Park covers 786 acres of unspoiled Ozark wilderness in Madison County, Arkansas, five miles north of Huntsville along the limestone bluffs of War Eagle Creek.
Named for settler Richard Withrow who built the area's first grist mill, it opened in 1965 after land donation in 1962 and serves as a popular put-in for Class I float trips on the creek from March through mid-June. Visitors enjoy 29 Class AAA campsites plus 10 walk-in tent sites, three miles of scenic hiking trails through oak-hickory forests.
A swimming pool, tennis courts, baseball/softball fields, picnic pavilion, gift shop, canoe rentals, fishing for bass and catfish, and rare Ozark trillium orchids amid wildlife like deer, foxes, bobcats, and otters.
