Wolf Creek State Park spans 11,100 acres along the eastern shore of Lake Shelbyville in Shelby County, east-central Illinois, eight miles northwest of Windsor, offering access to 25,300 acres of water and 250 miles of shoreline created by a massive U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dam for flood control.
Managed by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources since 1968, it features 304 Class A campsites with electricity, showers, and restrooms, plus primitive sites, boat ramps, a swimming beach, picnic areas, and trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding, snowmobiling, and hunting deer, turkey, pheasants, and rabbits amid abundant wildlife like bald eagles, songbirds, and wildflowers.
