The gardens cover around 250 acres and were established to preserve the natural beauty of the area while providing a peaceful retreat for visitors. Central to the site is the iconic Singing Tower, a 205-foot tall neo-Gothic carillon tower adorned with intricate carvings of native Florida wildlife and biblical scenes.
The tower houses 60 bronze bells that are played by skilled carillonneurs, filling the gardens with melodic music. The gardens feature a diverse range of plants including live oaks, azaleas, magnolias, camellias, and palms, creating a lush habitat for over 126 bird species and other wildlife. Edward Bok dedicated the gardens to the American people as a gift of gratitude for his opportunities and is buried at the base of the tower.
