Amusement Park
Camden Park in West Virginia is a historic amusement park located near Huntington, established in 1903 as a picnic grove by the Camden Interstate Railway.
It is recognized as one of only thirteen trolley parks remaining in the United States and is West Virginia's only amusement park. The park originally served as a stopover for trolley riders switching lines, and early attractions included a carousel and other roadside amusements.
Over the years, Camden Park has expanded to include more than 25 rides, such as a traditional wooden roller coaster called the Big Dipper, along with smaller coasters, a zoo, swimming pool, and various carnival games.
It has a rich history of evolving with the times, hosting events like live concerts and seasonal festivities, and maintaining many vintage rides like the carousel, Tilt-A-Whirl, and the Haunted House built in 1919. The park was bought by the Boylin family in 1946 and remains a family-owned operation, celebrating over a century of fun and family-friendly entertainment.
