Park
Carl G. Washburne Memorial State Park is a lush 1,000-acre coastal haven in Lane County, Oregon, USA, nestled in the Siuslaw National Forest along U.S. Highway 101 at milepost 176, about 14 miles north of Florence and 10 miles south of Cape Perpetua.
Named for former Oregon Highway Commissioner Carl G. Washburne and established in 1962 through a land grant from his wife Narcissa's estate, it offers 66 campsites including 19 full-hookup RV spots, 18 tent sites, two yurts, hiker/biker areas, hot showers, flush toilets, a dump station, and day-use picnicking amid second-growth forests of spruce, hemlock, and alder along China Creek.
A web of trails forms part of the Oregon Coast Trail, linking the campground to wide sandy beaches via the Hobbit Trail, the 6-mile round-trip Heceta Head Lighthouse hike, tide pools, agate hunting, whale watching, and wildlife viewing for elk, deer, and seabirds in this premier central Oregon Coast destination.
