Park
Cypremort Point State Park spans 185 acres on a peninsula jutting into Vermilion Bay along Louisiana's Gulf Coast in St. Mary Parish, one of few drivable beach access points between Grand Isle and Cameron, named for "dead cypress" in French from historic Chitimacha tribal markers.
It features a half-mile man-made sandy beach ideal for swimming, picnicking, windsurfing, sailing, water skiing, and shoreline fishing/crabbing for flounder and redfish, with two 100-foot lighted fishing piers, rod holders, fish cleaning stations, kayak launch, and nearby boat ramp to the Gulf.
A marsh boardwalk with outdoor classroom reveals wildlife like alligators, nutria, muskrats, deer, black bears, rabbits, opossums, red foxes, and native birds, complemented by six cabins with private porches, boat slips, picnic pavilions, and BBQ pits amid coastal marsh habitat.
