Golden and Silver Falls State Natural Area is a hidden coastal gem in Coos County, southwestern Oregon, USA, about 24 miles northeast of Coos Bay near Allegany, reached via a narrow gravel road through dense forests.
It features two stunning waterfalls—Golden Falls (254 feet tall) and Silver Falls (100-223 feet)—plunging over sheer cliffs into mossy canyons amid old-growth Douglas firs, cedars, maples, alders, and myrtle trees. Short hiking trails (0.5-1.5 miles round-trip) lead to viewpoints at the bases and top of the falls from a small shaded parking and picnic area along Glenn and Silver Creeks, offering peaceful picnicking, birdwatching, and wildflower viewing in spring.
