P.H. Hoeft State Park covers 340 acres of heavily wooded terrain along a mile of sandy Lake Huron shoreline northwest of Rogers City in Michigan's northeast Lower Peninsula, one of the state's earliest parks established in 1922 through a donation by lumber baron Paul H. Hoeft.
Managed by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, it features a modern campground with 126 sites and a mini-cabin, historic Civilian Conservation Corps-built stone picnic shelter from 1937, playgrounds, and 4 miles of hiking trails through mixed forests ideal for birdwatching and cross-country skiing.
Visitors enjoy swimming in a buoyed beach area, fishing, hunting in designated zones, and paved path connections to the Huron Sunrise Trail, blending natural beauty with moderated lake-influenced climate near the 40 Mile Point Lighthouse.
