Jackson F. Kimball State Recreation Site is a pristine 19-acre seasonal state park in Klamath County, southern Oregon, USA, located near the headwaters of the Wood River just off Highway 62, about 20 miles southeast of Crater Lake National Park and 3 miles north of Fort Klamath.
Named for early lumberman and forestry advocate Jackson F. Kimball, it was deeded by the Oregon Board of Forestry in 1955 from Sun Pass State Forest lands and offers primitive camping with 10 first-come, first-served sites, two horse campsites, vault toilets, picnic areas, and a short trail to the spring-fed lagoon amid lodgepole pines, quaking aspens, and Cascade Mountain meadows.
Open May to November (weather permitting) at 4,211 feet elevation, visitors enjoy canoeing, kayaking, fishing in the clear stream, wildlife viewing, and peaceful relaxation, though no potable water is available so plan accordingly.
