James H. "Sloppy" Floyd State Park spans 561 acres near Summerville in northwest Georgia, USA, nestled at the base of Taylor Ridge within the Chattahoochee National Forest.
Named for James H. "Sloppy" Floyd, a longtime Georgia House Representative from the area who served from 1953 to 1974, it offers excellent fishing on two stocked lakes totaling 51 acres, accessible by boat ramps with electric motors only.
Visitors hike three miles of lake loop trails plus the scenic Marble Mine Trail to an old mine and small waterfall, access the long-distance Pinhoti Trail, spot bluebirds from swings, feed ducks from boardwalks, enjoy playgrounds, pedal boat rentals, picnicking, and stay at a small campground or four tree-covered cottages.
