Once a ferry site and resort from the 1950s until the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel opened in 1964, it now provides 5.1 miles of hiking and biking trails, a seasonal swimming beach, picnic areas, a playground, cabins, lodges, yurts, a bunkhouse, and 145 campsites including RV hookups. Programs highlight bay ecology, birding, and natural history, with rentals for kayaks and bikes, all just minutes from the bridge-tunnel.
