The lake sits at roughly 4,150 feet elevation and offers about 69 miles of shoreline ringed by high‑desert sagebrush with stands of cottonwood and willow trees along the water’s edge. The park is a popular destination for boating, water skiing, fishing, and camping, with a developed campground and picnic areas at Silver Springs Beach #7 as well as extensive primitive camping along the shoreline, plus numerous trails and areas for hiking, horseback riding, and seasonal hunting, all open year‑round and managed by the Nevada Division of State Parks.
