Built by the Civilian Conservation Corps with historic stone lodges, shelters, and erosion-control dams on the National Register, it offers shaded picnics between lake arms, a swimming beach, two boat ramps for small craft and kayaks, fishing jetties targeting largemouth bass, channel catfish, bluegill, crappie, and bullhead, plus multi-use trails past bullfrogs, blue herons, and vibrant fall foliage.
Modern camping includes electric/non-electric sites, showers, dump station, playgrounds, and group facilities in a serene setting drawing families for boating, hiking, and nature escapes.
