Park
Lake Keomah State Park spans 366 acres of woods and marshes around an 84-acre man-made lake in Mahaska County near Oskaloosa, southern Iowa, USA, dedicated in 1934 as Iowa's first artificial lake project blending Keokuk and Mahaska county names.
Built by the Civilian Conservation Corps with historic stone lodges, shelters, and erosion-control dams on the National Register, it offers shaded picnics between lake arms, a swimming beach, two boat ramps for small craft and kayaks, fishing jetties targeting largemouth bass, channel catfish, bluegill, crappie, and bullhead, plus multi-use trails past bullfrogs, blue herons, and vibrant fall foliage.
Modern camping includes electric/non-electric sites, showers, dump station, playgrounds, and group facilities in a serene setting drawing families for boating, hiking, and nature escapes.
