Park
Lincoln Homestead State Park spans 120 acres north of Springfield in Washington County, Kentucky, preserving the boyhood home of Thomas Lincoln, father of President Abraham Lincoln, along with ties to his grandmother Bersheba Lincoln.
Key features include reconstructions of the 1782 family cabin made from 115-year-old logs, Thomas's blacksmith workshop with period tools, and furnishings he crafted himself, plus the nearby original cabin where Thomas courted Nancy Hanks, Abraham's mother.
Open May through September, visitors explore these historic sites via guided tours (small admission fee), picnic amid split-rail fences, fish the lake, play disc golf or the 18-hole golf course on Mordecai Lincoln's former farm, and enjoy playgrounds near the Mordecai Lincoln House.
