State Park
Meaher State Park is a 1,327-acre park located on Big Island at the northern end of Mobile Bay in Spanish Fort, Alabama. Situated within the wetlands of the Mobile-Tensaw Delta—the second-largest delta in the contiguous United States—the park offers scenic natural surroundings, including creeks, rivers, bays, and bayous.
Popular activities include fishing from the 300-foot pier, boating via the park’s boat ramp with access to the Blakeley River, and walking along a self-guided boardwalk that provides close-up views of the delta’s rich ecosystem. The park features 61 RV campsites with full hookups, 10 improved tent sites, and eight cabins overlooking Ducker Bay, with modern amenities like bathhouses and laundry facilities.
Visitors enjoy observing diverse wildlife, especially bird species, and the park serves as a gateway to nearby wildlife management areas and the Five Rivers Delta Resource Center. Day-use, picnicking, and overnight accommodations make Meaher a favored spot for nature enthusiasts and anglers.
