Park
Natural Bridge State Resort Park spans 2,300 acres in Powell and Wolfe counties, Kentucky, near Slade within the Daniel Boone National Forest and adjacent to the Red River Gorge Geological Area.
Its centerpiece is a stunning 78-foot-wide, 65-foot-high natural sandstone arch formed over millions of years by weathering, accessible via the historic 0.5-mile Original Trail from the 1890s when it was a private railroad attraction before becoming one of Kentucky's original four state parks in 1926.
Visitors explore over 20 miles of moderate to strenuous trails to features like Lover's Leap, Fat Man's Squeeze, White's Branch Arch, and Henson's Cave Arch, plus a 60-acre lake for fishing, lodge lodging, cottages, two campgrounds, dining, sky lift access, and rare species habitat including endangered Virginia big-eared bats.
