Park
Nine Eagles State Park spans 1,100 acres of rugged wooded hills and scenic valleys abundant with ancient oak trees—some over 300 years old—in Decatur County near Davis City, southern Iowa, USA, dedicated in 1952 around a crystal-clear 64-acre lake fed by a timbered watershed.
One of southern Iowa's most picturesque parks, it offers excellent fishing for largemouth bass, channel catfish, bluegill, crappie, northern pike, and tiger muskie from shoreline jetties, a boat ramp, fish cleaning station, and no-motor (rowboats and electric only) waters, plus a sandy unsupervised swimming beach.
Visitors enjoy 9 miles of hiking trails and 6 miles of bridle paths through native plants supporting abundant birds and wildlife, shaded picnics, three campgrounds with 68 sites including electric hookups, showers, dump station, primitive horse camping, and year-round serenity.
