Park
Port Crescent State Park is a 640‑acre Michigan state park on the shores of Lake Huron’s Saginaw Bay, about five miles southwest of Port Austin at the tip of the state’s “Thumb” region.
The park sits on a historic ghost‑town site once called Port Crescent and features about three miles of sandy shoreline, rolling dunes, the Pinnebog River, and a modern 140‑plus‑site campground with unique lodging options such as geodesic domes, camper cabins, and cottages.
Visitors can swim, picnic, fish, canoe, hike or cross‑country ski on several miles of trails, watch birds and raptors, and enjoy stargazing in a designated Michigan dark‑sky preserve, all within a scenic, relatively remote‑feeling setting close to the small town of Port Austin.
