Park

Sheldon Lake State Park and Environmental Learning Center spans 2,800 acres in northeast Harris County near Houston, Texas, along Sheldon Reservoir built in 1942 for wartime industries and later acquired by Texas Parks and Wildlife in 1952 as a waterfowl refuge, fishing lake, and hatchery before becoming a state park in 1984.
