Sheps Canyon Recreation Area lies along Sheps Canyon Bay of Angostura Reservoir in Fall River County, southwestern South Dakota, 6 miles south of Hot Springs on SD Highway 71 then 5 miles east on Sheps Canyon Road at 28150 South Boat Ramp Road.
This year-round park offers 22 electrical campsites, 40 non-electrical sites, 11 horse campsites, 2 group sites, a group lodge for 12, modern cabins, boat ramps for excellent shore fishing, swimming beaches, hiking, birdwatching with deer, wild turkeys, and bald eagles, picnicking, and equestrian trails amid rolling hills and open grasslands near Wind Cave National Park.
Seasonal showers and flush toilets close October 1 to April 30 with vault toilets always available, blending water sports, camping, and Black Hills proximity.
