Originally developed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company as an employee retreat, it joined Ohio's state park system in 2009, providing family-friendly amenities like kayak rentals, boating, fishing for bass, bluegill, and crappie, a public beach, paved walking trails, disc golf, an archery range, dog park, playgrounds, sports courts, mini-golf, picnic shelters, and a nature center with storybook trail.
